Look what happened when we became sentient. This is just dumb. These machines suck dust on the floor, so if you lie on the floor, if it is not one with laser guidance, it will either bump into you which clues it in to find another route and make a note it cannot go this way, or it will pick up stuff before it bumps into you, like hair spread on the floor. Some have sensors that tell it if it is at an edge like the top of a staircase, but those sensors don't see objects in front because they are looking down at the floor. Some units come with magnetic or metal strips you place where you do not want it to go.
