>From a scene in which the megalomaniacal villain (Samuel L. Jackson) has >invited the gentleman spy (Colin Firth) to his mansion for a dinner of McD Big >Macs served with a '45 Chateau Lafite:
Valentine: Do you like spy movies, Mr. DeVille? Harry Hart: Nowadays, they're all a little serious for my taste. But the old ones... marvelous. Give me a far-fetched theatrical plot any day. Valentine: The old Bond movies. Oh, man. Ah, when I was a kid, that was my dream job: gentleman spy. Harry Hart: I always felt that the old Bond films were only as good as the villain. As a child, I rather fancied a future as a colorful megalomaniac. Valentine: What a shame we both had to grow up. If, like Harry, you loved the old Bond movies before they became caricatures of themselves, you'll *love* "Kingsman: The Secret Service." It is really, really fun -- a wonderful action romp from start to finish, laced with liberal doses of reverential humor as it takes the piss out of all those old classic spy movies we all loved, but in a loving way. Colin Firth is great, Taron Egerton (Asbo from "The Smoke," for those few who may have watched that UK series) is damned good, and Jack Davenport (from "FlashForward") is tremendous in a short-lived but near-perfect tribute to James Bond. 74% Rotten Tomatoes rating, and 8.2 out of 10 stars on IMDB, and neither of those ratings is high enough if you're looking for a really fun evening like you used to have watching the old Bond movies. Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin (Taron Egerton, young gentleman-spy-in-training): Sorry, Love. Gotta save the world. Princess Tilde (Hanna Alström, uh, babalicious princess being held captive): [In a thick, Swedish accent] If you save the world, We can do it in the asshole. Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin: [Calmly] I will be right back.
