Netflix added this film Friday and folks were raving about it so I
watched it last night. Good little flick, in Persian with subtitles but
not filmed in the Middle East but instead California though dressed up
with Farsi street signs, etc. I had just finishing watching the latest
episode of "Blacklist" on Hulu+ (with too many ads in the breaks,
sometimes in the past they skipped some breaks on this show) and here
was Mozhan Marno who appears in "Blacklist" (also "House of Cards")
playing an entirely different role as a prostitute. It's filmed in
black and white and probably inspired a bit by "Sin City" and the name
of the Iranian city is "Bad City" in the film. Rated "Not for Buck" due
to violence and nudity and "Not for Empty" due to Islamic themes though
this film couldn't be shot in an Islamic country.
