So instead of Labour, who should he have supported?

He was originally campaigning under a "don't vote at all" banner. Not sure how many took him seriously but he suddenly switched to Labour, after the time limit for registering to vote so if any of his fans took him seriously enough to follow his word they were out of luck.

Labour sold their soul to capitalism with Tony Blair, it got them elected but didn't please the hardcore leftwingers at all. In fact, Maggie Thatcher considered Blair her proudest creation. Not that they were all bad, they were quite socially progressive and vowed to end child poverty and improve education.

Most lefties voted for the Green party who are proper old school socialists with a "save the world" motiff that might come in handy for humanity at some point in the not too distant future. So I guess they were the obvious choice for him.

Their only MP, Caroline Lucas, gave a great speech at the demo. I wanted her installed in Downing street immediately, but the electoral system doesn't favour small parties and they got nowhere as usual.
