Band members usually have friends who like to tag along with the band to
listen, dance and get in the party for free. If the band is big, the entourage
could easily become a crowd.

But it's hard to keep a band together because eventually personalities would
clash that makes it difficult to play together. It's like being married to
somebody multiplied by the number in the band. For example, the Beatles didn't
last very long. So, I consider it a miracle that the Stones are still together
after all these years. How do they do it?

Musicians like myself and Curtis are familiar with the "Party Boy"
archetype. They are the ones who often want to "sit in" at a wedding
reception and aren't usually very good musicians but we indulge them.
One can tell by the wincing of the guests this is the guy's usual
"venue" and they too indulge him. The party boy has a bit of an
insecurity so needs to be the center of attention.
