That's hardly reason to believe him innocent. Getting rid of evidence would be the first thing an accused would do - unless they have a wish to be found guilty. Having read about the small-town 'justice' practiced by the male-dominated Indian courts I have my serious doubts any woman's complaints about sexual misconduct would be upheld as true and damning for the accused.
