Reflecting the Frontline piece on this topic.....Obama is not responsible for the Shia/Sunni dynamic. He is not responsible for the atrocities committed by Maliki in his fear of, and inability to, lead and further what needed to be an inclusively represented government in Iraq. Was he trying to get us out of Iraq? Yes, he was. We shouldn't have been there in the first place, in that we were there based on false pretenses. It wasn't a war the citizens here were in favor of either, particularly after it was clear Bush and cronies had forwarded the WMD story falsely (which I thought was obvious BS from the beginning, but so many believed.) Did the removal of US troops allow for the existing rage there to erupt and contribute to the formation of ISIL. Maybe? Is the caliphate dangerous? Very. There needs to be a coordinated effort to continue to go after ISIS and all countries need to get on board. We can't do it alone and we can't occupy and police other countries indefinitely. Violence breeds violence and ISIS is a perfect example of the evil stemming from that principle.
Your rigid insistence of repeating right-wing rhetoric as truth is tiresome. The debt sentence you cite doesn't reflect the truth; we've been over that. Here's the scoop on that again for you. http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/obama-has-added-more-national-debt-previous-43-pre/ http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/obama-has-added-more-national-debt-previous-43-pre/ http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/o... http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/obama-has-added-more-national-debt-previous-43-pre/ View on www.politifact.com http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/04/chain-email/obama-has-added-more-national-debt-previous-43-pre/ Preview by Yahoo ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, <mdixon.6569@...> wrote : Please take him and do it quickly. Richard Brunt has blinders on and sees only what he *wants* to see. The full effects of his administration have yet to be completely realized. He has more than doubled the debt of all Administrations that preceded him. Printing up money is not the same as creating wealth. 200,000 jobs a month can't keep our heads above water. They are lousy, low paying , and part time jobs. Seventeen percent of those jobs have gone to illegal immigrants. The unemployment numbers do not account for those that have given up looking for work. More people than ever are on government assistance programs including food stamps, welfare and unemployment. The middle class is shrinking. Race relations are at the lowest that they have been since before the civil rights movement began. Even Tavis Smiley admits that blacks have done very poorly, even regressed economically, under Obama. Obama gave back hard won and costly victories and surrendered Iraq to Iran and ISIS. Completely destabilized the middle- east, where our allies don't trust us any longer. Stabbed Mubarak a long time ally, who creating stability, in the back turning Egypt over to the Muslim Brotherhood. Libya is now a failed state run by ISIS. Draws imaginary *red-lines* in the sands of Syria. His policies have seen the greatest influx of refugees from Africa and the middle-east into Europe. He releases terrorist back to the battlefield. There have been more terrorist attacks on the homeland since 9/11 than ever occurred during the Bush administration. He didn't get Bin Laden, the CIA did. He just accepted the political responsibility, knowing if it ever got out that he wouldn't, he'd be run out of the country. Putin is on the move, taking Georgia and seizing parts of the Ukraine, threatening other countries once controlled by the former Soviet Union. Oh, I'm just getting started. But Please, do us a favor and take that *bastard*(literally and figuratively) from us and do it quickly! From: "awoelflebater@...
