 Bhairitu,

My intent was to present interesting news developments in the world,
regardless of the source. Assuming that the news is correct, one has to
wonder why Putin is recalling his people home. It's probably far fetch to
assume that he's doing it all to affect the American election and to tacitly
support Trump. So, why is he calling his people home?

Why is it far-fetched? The article is clear enough that Putin wants Trump to
win:

The report comes as a key ally of Putin's warned that Americans should vote
for Donald Trump as president next month or risk being dragged into a nuclear
war.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a flamboyant veteran lawmaker known for his fiery
rhetoric, told Reuters in an interview
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/putin-ally-vote-trump/2016/10/13/id/753297/
that Trump was the only person able to de-escalate dangerous tensions between
Moscow and Washington.

By contrast, Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton could spark World War
Three, said Zhirinovsky, who received a top state award from Putin after his
pro-Kremlin Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) came third in Russia's
parliamentary election last month.
Does Putin have an inside scoop on Trump? Or, does he think Trump is clueless
in dealing with international affairs? Thus, Putin will step in as the "good"
guy against an "ugly" American. But beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Putin knows Trump is clueless in dealing with international affairs. Trump is
also clueless about who Putin is and what his goals are. Putin wants Trump to
think he's Trump's friend and ally so he can steer Trump to take actions
favorable to Russia, believing they're all his own idea.
At the same time, Putin knows he won't be able to wrap Hillary around his
little finger; she's a tough cookie who will do what she thinks is best for the
U.S.
Of course Putin wants Trump to be president.

Heavens to Betsy, JR! You quoted a "right-wing" news source! Mother Superior
Jooday will give you 50 lashes with her ruler. Not that Newsmax is wrong and
sources to some of these stories are from Reuters. I linked to a similar story
on NBC News yesterday and they can't surely be "right wing" can they? After
all they unabashedly support Hillary. But then Hillary seems to be to the
right of Donald Trump. She's just good at programming her "bots".

Sometimes the concerns of the supposed "right wing" sound like the concerns of
"left wing" during the Bush administration. My how times have changed!

If that's the case, Putin appears to be backing the wrong candidate. And,
Hillary may be correct in saying that the Russians are behind the information
from WikiLeaks.

Sooner or later, there could be an accident in Syria that could lead to a
shootout between the US and Russia. As such, the UN should mandate a no fly
zone in Aleppo.

Of course he's trying to influence the election. And note that this "report"
is from the extremely right-wing Newsmax.
