It will likely be very weird for the children/cousins—for the brother Hunter's kids and for Beau's. I would expect there could be some significant anger as they head into puberty. After all, for Beau's kids, their father is recently gone and their uncle is now in a father-like role and sleeping with their mother. For Hunter's kids, they are dealing with the divorce of their parents and their aunt is now sleeping with their father. From the outside, this feels like the adults have behaved selfishly and made a decision far too soon after the recent changes and upheavals in the family. Family get-togethers will be awkward and difficult, IMO. I can imagine that this pair-up will likely result in Kathleen Biden not attending holidays, for example, which, in a civil break-up, often occurs for the sake of the family and children.
