Cheating is permitted in this case because IMO it's
a really interesting movie, all about aversion and
having to deal with your aversions before you can
get past them. Very Buddhist flick, for a scary
movie. :-)

When it first came out, a reviewer in Los Angeles
really lit into it. He wrote a *scathing* review
of the film, ranting up one side of the righteously
offended wall and down the other. The critic said
that the film was just the latest example of the
"blood and gore" horror flicks, and then he went
on to disparage the whole genre. The thing is,
there was *no* blood and gore on the screen during
the movie (or almost none). The screenwriter and
the director just made you see it in your head.
This supposedly-hip film critic was so unaware of
his own perceptions and how they worked that he
really came away from the film convinced that he'd
seen it onscreen, when he hadn't. Fascinating
phenomenon, in my opinion.
