Turns out the Caribou love the pipeline and they gather near it because it gives off heat and they are proliferating. And the area that oil companies want to drill in ANWAR is a tiny fraction of the whole refuge and is nothing but frozen Tundra in the Winter and a marsh in the short summer. Very little if any wildlife would be displaced from the area of oil exploration.
