Thanks, Ingegerd.   What I do takes just a few seconds and I place my 
thumb on the forehead where the third eye is and the ring finger on the 
top of the head or just the ring finger on the forehead.   The power 
comes from practicing the mantra for several years before I was allowed 
to do it.  That way the shakti is charged up plus I am not allowed at 
this time to do anymore than 7 people a day.   This is a traditional 
teaching.  My teacher and I were looking at both Chandala Ma's and 
Kalki's website for descriptions but could not find much.  He thinks 
they are just doing a simple first chakra opening technique.

The movie "Holy Smoke" has an apt representation of powerful shaktipat 
where at the beginning the character played by Kate Winslet gets 
shaktipat from a guru at an ashram.
