If it's written down, it *becomes* a writing style,
so my comments above would still apply.  You may
well have a different writing style when you're
writing formally, though.

I think many if not most of us who post on electronic
forums adopt a more conversational tone unless we're
posting an essay-type thing, and especially when
we're posting in a back-and-forth sort of exchange.
