...which leads to an interesting question: Remember when the Taliban were in power in Afghanistan and they was an outcry from the world community when they bombed away those wonderful Buddhist faces on the side of a mountain? I wonder: were those Buddhist sculptures facing East or West? And am out of line drawing a parallel between what the Taliban did and what the TMO desires to do with the monastery?
