Interesting. I think it is silly too, but I think the whole concept of karma as being passed on life to life is a bit silly and too much stuck in earthbound thought patterns. I think I have heard people say that Maharishi has said that a meditator or sidha is purifying the karma of 7 generations of his/her family, in the future and past, but don't quote me on that.
