Hello, Fairfield Life! Some of you may know Carrie Turner, who moved to town from Iowa City last fall after cooking for the summer permaculture course and cooked briefly at Revelations and Petit Paris before starting her own cafe at the Golden Gate Center, where she's been perfecting her recipes for all-organic artisan breads, as well as selling very tasty, very affordable all-organic lunches.
She hopes to buy a larger oven so that she can start baking and selling larger quantities of bread both in the cafe and at the farmers' market. But to buy the oven she wants, she needs to raise $1000 in a hurry. So she's borrowed a trick from community-supported agriculture and is selling loaves in advance (see explanation below). Having sampled her bread already, I'm on my way to buy 50 loaves, and I hope you will, too! I realize I'm essentially advertising a commercial venture, and that may be borderline appropriate for this list. But we all benefit from local businesses like Carrie's that patronize other local businesses and strengthen the local organic economy, and particularly since she's just getting started (and not yet turning a profit) she needs community support. --Ben -------- Original Message -------- To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: curry2red <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> let's try another approach. $3 loaf shares are available for purchase at canary cafe, located at golden gate center on the corner of highway 1 and 185th. you will recieve a certificate of purchase redeemable at ANY TIME for your loaf of bread. this means normal business hours: mon-fri 7:30am-4:30pm, or farmers' markets. they'd make great gifts! any and all help is deeply appreciated and please understand this is a time sensitive issue. thank you, canary
