Ok, I tried re-running the 3.0.1 updater and I did not get any JS errors when viewing a page with the FCKeditor on it. But after messing around with a few other options (and reinstalling Farcry again) I realized that because I had my Farcry install in a subdirectory under the webroot and not as the webroot itself, the path to the customfckconfig.js file in the admin was wrong. After correcting the path, it now works in IE and Firefox.
I guess IE just ignored the error and continued loading the editor, while Firefox ignored the error as far as reporting it to the console, and refused to continue loading. What a pain! Maybe in the next update, the farcry install directory can be inserted into the customconfigurationspath on install? Thanks for your help guys! Paul, Sounds like a JS error to me. It may be related to running the FCKEditor updater script which is deprecated for 3.01 (we should remove that). Try this: 1. Run the b301 updater (which contains the new FCKEditor updates), if the config is tweaked this will fix it. 2. Clear your JavaScript console in FireFox and run the editor page again, do you get any new errors? Let me know how go on this. Is anybody else experiencing this behavior? Let me know if you are, if this is a bug I'd like to get it nailed down as quickly as possible. I can't replicate this behavior on my end ;-( Bugs aside, the 3.01 update adds a couple FCKeditor niceties in addition to the upgrade to the 2.2 core: * Insert behavior has been improved, now when you insert a link from the Tree or Media Library the script will look for selected text to use as the Anchor Text vs. using the Object Title or Label. * You can now have an FCKEditor Custom Config. Using the new "CUSTOMCONFIGURATIONSPATH" config item under FCKEditor you can set the path to a custom JS config for FCKEditor. Using this you can setup custom toolbars, skins etc. Checkout http://wiki.fckeditor.net/Developer%27s_Guide/Configuration/Configuratio ns_File for a list of all the config items. ~Tom On 4/10/06, Gallo, Paul <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I just installed a fresh new copy of Farcry 3.0.1 and switched the rich text editor value to FCKEditor. (just to be sure ;) For some reason FCKEditor is not showing up at all when I use FireFox 1.5, but it works fine in IE. > > > > I have a Farcry 2.3.2 install that is using FCKEditor 2.2 (same as what comes with Farcry 3) and it displays fine in Firefox 1.5 and IE. > > > > Is this happening to anyone else? > > > > Thanks, > > > > Paul Gallo > > Web Designer > > Clough Harbour & Associates LLP > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > http://www.cloughharbour.com > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
