I just downloaded and reinstalled 3.0.2 and replicated your error. The error message is misleading. A file is missing in \farcry_core\admin\install\ directory.
As a work-around, copy \farcry_core\admin\updates\fu.cfm to \farcry_core\admin\install\
I'm running into a few more errors. I'll post as I debug.

I have just installed 3.0.2 due to the stated support of Oracle. The
installation seems to go smoothly and at the end it states that there
is an
error and can't create several image related directories.
I then try to login with the default farcry user and the page just
refreshes. with no rmessages as to what is wrong.
The tables were created fine in Oracle. Do I need a db owner in the
install?
