Sorry, I'm not entirely clear on it myself. I do know that FarCry has a cache tag that you can use to cache the html output of code so that you can automatically cache pages, parts of pages, and even groups of these for specified time periods. I expect that many of the things you're talking about are related to this.

Can someone explain caching in FC to me?

I see a "categorycachetimespan" in the config files - currently set to
zero... Is this minutes? Seconds?

I also see a "cache summary" which currently says "no block caches at this
time.

Finally I see an "autocache" - when I click on it is says "generating
caches" and runs for a time.... What's it doing?
