I have just been keeping up with the lastest nightly builds, installing the
updated files.

There is a known issue with extended array types and the flex-beta. This
should be fixed and patched in the next couple of days.

Are you upgrading from a previous version or is this a clean install on
4.0.2?

Kind regards

I have used the FLEX COAPI manager and I like it -- much faster than the old
style. I can't duplicate the "home page redirect" or the stalling when using
the FLEX. Does it not lock the same way, or is it just faster so the locking
is not noticed?

The only downside I have found to it is that if the FLEX app crashes it
seems to be more dramatic than the old style typeadmin.

Example:

Went into the COAPI Flex Beta and saw that the DATA field of
ruleHandPicked_aObjectIDs type had the wrong DB type. Forgetting that
changing DB types sometimes doesn't work, I clicked Repair. Doom on me!

Error: Element Rules is undefined.

So I clicked the old Type Classes link.

Element PACKAGEPATH is undefined in a CFML structure referenced as part of
an expression.

The error occurred in
W:\users\westfall\farcry\core\packages\farcry\alterType.cfc: line 589

587 :
588 : <cfloop list="#structKeyList(application.stcoapi)#" index="i">
589 : <cfset o = createObject("Component",
"#application.stcoapi[i].packagePath#") />
590 : <cfset variables.tableMetadata =
createobject('component','farcry.core.packages.fourq.TableMetadata').init()
/>
591 : <cfset variables.tableMetadata.parseMetadata(getMetadata(o)) />

Did an UpdateApp=1, and Got

Application Failed to Initialise

..Element PACKAGEPATH is undefined in a CFML structure referenced as part
of an expression.

Eventually I guess the FLEX coapi manager timed out with what it was doing,
and I was able to do another UpdateApp to recover.

In the past, if a db field type change didn't work in the old TypeAdmin, it
just wouldn't stick -- farcry wouldn't get stuck in the netherworld.

Hi Derek,

Have you tried the new flex-beta coapi admin? This is the direction we are
headed. It is not perfect yet but we like it alot. You will see the link
below the standard coapi admin.

Kind regards

There has got to be a better way to handle the locking in this section --
I'm not even making any changes to the Type Classes. But I would also expect
to be able to go into the Type Classes section and deploy a new type or
property without all my users getting redirected to the home page while I do
so.
