Farcry version 4.03, Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 We need some help updating from Version 3.01 to Version 4.03. We've searched the archives and have not been able to find any answers.
The site has been upgraded a couple of times from 2.x and is now at version 3.01. Our thinking when we started this project in May/June was to install a fresh copy of Version 4 for our development environment and then move the Version 3 database over to the Version 4 site, run the updater and deal with some minor issues. This is not working. What we are finding is that the updaters (b400 and b401) do not update the database structure. Or at least, not everything. We used a tool to analyze the structural differences and went as far as modifying the structure based on the findings of the comparison tool to match the version 4 structure. This got us a bit further but we are now getting WDDX errors in the site portion of the admin and no data being displayed on the site, and seem to be stuck again. We are writing this post to see if 1.) our approach was a reasonable one, 2.) to see if we're just missing something obvious, and/or 3.) Does anyone have any ideas how to get the data in our 3.x database into a 4.x database? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
