This is unlikely to be a bug in FarCry.  Note that the version of
tinyMCE is different in later versions of FarCry and will not be the
same as that in 3.0.

You might try:
- confirming that the stylesheet is in fact being loaded by tinyMCE
- try attaching the class to the image directly rather than a span
