Great idea. I know I need some visual aids. I am trying to get a comfort level on plugins and dynamic content types. I have been reading the plugin guides I have found. But what about changes in 5? I have downloaded the FarCry dictionary for cfEclipse but I can't get both the FarCry and the cf8 Language dictionarys to load at the same time.
I know I can use the scaffold to create a custom version of lets say News for example. I think [correct me if I am wrong], I can then alter that and add fields and function that I need. My situation is this. I need to be able to have people on the public site submit/create articles as well as respond to a bunch of survey questions and post everything into the database. Then allow the publishers to reviewed and approved/decline the submissions. Later I am going to want to have a login segment on the public site so people can fill out and maintain a profile. I have also been dissecting the new player plugin and the idlForm plugin. But their use and behavior is very different then say a news item. I am not even sure which approach I should take, or if they are really all that different. I know this is straight forward but I just don't have anything to examine and I am trying to cut as much development time as possible so I can meet a deadline. Perhaps all this is already covered somewhere if so I apologize for my ramblings and please point me in the right direction. I am very impressed with FarCry and want to extend my compliments again to all those who have created it.
