Our current thinking is that the Forum will be similar to the NearCry blogging app. That is, a standalone distribution, and a plugin that can be integrated into existing projects. With respect to time frame... we haven't started development so we just don't know. We'd like to sort out 5.1 (which is very near complete) and also sort out a universal approach to Javascript UI libraries. Then we'll have a look at Forums.
