I have read some of the threads discussing the i18n functionality that is coming in the near future. I am not entirely clear on the scope of what that functionality entails. As best I can determine, it is a mechanism that enables a multi-lingual interface for the entire (nuts and bolts of the...) framework. Very exciting indeed.
What is not clear to me is if this functionality provides for the public interfaces of i18n. Are there mechanisms in this functionality that allow for inserting user created content in multiple languages? For instance, a user creates a new "About Us" page. In the webtop are there AUTOMAGICALLY fields for the input of content in multiple languages? Or does the developer come up with his own scheme for enabling users to input multi-lingual content? The other question would be does the framework handle the switching of languages for the users as they desire? I.e. cookies providing persistence to one language or another... Any clarity on current functionality or the road map would be great. I have read the docs here: http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV50/Internationalisation+(i18n) ...everything seems to reference the framework and administration, and not the content creation side of i18n.
