Have you tried the FarCry 5 Jumpstart Course? This may help to better
explain how webskins work in the 5.x release. Although an old style
"Include" will work with the Verity plugin it is not how its designed
to work in 5.x and this may be part of the issue you are experiencing.

Can you send through a screenshot of the editing interface for the
"Included" content you have set up in the site tree. The way you have
this set up will be key in determining what the actual problem is.

Please send through your header code.

Please send through your search template code.

If you select "show rules" from the admin tray, then hide the tray
(click on the "cog with arrow" aka "pot plant" icon :) the begin/end
of individual views that are running should be highlighted in HTML
comments. This can be a great help in deciphering what is running
where.

Apologies for the lack of documentation with Verity Plugin for 5.x --
its still in beta -- works fine, just has no documentation. We're
working hard to get our internal docs externalised. It's great to
have folks like yourself letting us know where things just don;t make
any sense -- so many thanks :)
