Folks, We've been toying with the idea of a regular online meet-up for users. This would be a chance for users, developers and core developers to get together, ask questions, demo how things work and so on.
The problem with many of these forums is the pressure to put something significant/meaningful together can often get so great that you end up not doing anything at all. I'm playing around with the following idea. A weekly meet-up -- yup, weekly. On a specific day every week -- possibly Thursday, as this is the day Daemon has its internal FarCry breakfast each week. With a 20mins only session with 10mins Q&A. All delivered through Adobe Connect. Anything useful gets republished as a video podcast, warts and all. The hope is that by keeping each meeting so short, we could attempt to talk about one specific thing, and people might actually turn up to listen. Plus anything we produce from the meeting, such as a video, would actually be short enough and focused enough to have some relevance. Session ideas off the top of my head: - case study on a new farcry site launch - best way to upload an image and embed in your page - how does the new admin tray work - anatomy of a formtool; how these components are put together - how to configure the rich text editor for your projects needs - and so on. In theory, if we don't have to prepare anything significant, we stand a real chance of actually doing a session. By doing it so regularly, we can chop and change the content to suit peoples needs. We want to see if we can't freestyle content and engage with the community more without the overhead of preparing a formal presentation. Anyway just a thought. What do you guys think? What sort of content do you want to see covered? What time would be a good time? -- assume in or near Aussie business hours. geoff http://www.daemon.com.au/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "farcry-dev" group.
