Okay, time to bite the bullet and get this thing moving and the first step is to ask for some advice. Both my computers are running MS Vista Home Premium SP1 and for some reason will not run the CFMX 7.2 standalone developer, which is not the best for FC anyhow! I am on shared hosting (Windows 2003 and either CF 7 or 8) and they so have the ISAPI ReWrite. I know that ithe ISAPI will not run on the standalone CF development server.
Question 1 is CAN I do the local development then when I move to the shared server instigate the SE Safe URLs on the site? Question 2 I can get by on the coding but have no experience with the IIS. Can someone recommend a good tutorial/book... something to walk me through setting these things up? Question 3 If getting a server is the best option, can someone make any recommendations, and yes, cost is a consideration? All assistance appreciated in advance!
