It was some extra code we had to insert into the Application.cfc as per
client requirements that made everything go crazy (the client have a
separate login system they use for a whole bunch of sites and wanted to
implement it on this site as well). I didn't understand the code so I just
followed their install instructions and copied/pasted the relevant bits.
Turned out, one of the bits I copied should be changed to allow the FarCry
session stuff to stuff work. Oh well. Another pair of eyes in the form of
our server guy pointed out the difference.
