If ya'll are up to the task of maintaining your own servers, linode.com
is a great place to get a VPS for a very good price. Upside: you
install what you want, when you want, and have complete control (linux
based only). Downside: you have to install what you want, when you
want, and if it breaks you need to fix it ;). They do offer support,
but for the most part it's not application based.
I've been with them since 2008, and only have one outage that's been
network related. I've got two servers (one in the UK) at $30/mo and one
at $60/mo. In the next month, I'll also be firing up another $30/mo to
handle new clients.
