Sometimes, when you don't specifically lay out <cfset var blah=""> in a
CFC, some truly bizarre crap can go down. Especially under load.
There's some areas in core that need some var scoping loving ;). I've
had odd results mail due to error on things like object creation, or
even when just trying to pull up a webskin.
