The advantages of using FarCry's ft:form, ft:object, ft:processform, and ft:processformobject tags are: - nice form formatting out of the box - built in validation - data goes straight into the database from the form, without you having to massage it
It doesn't look like you're trying to use any of those, so the work to get the built in forms to do your custom stuff is probably not worth the time - easier to just write your own HTML forms.
