To be honest, we're a little embarrassed by that package. It's very elaborate and doesn't do that much for you. We usually use the sitemap webskin in the Google Site Search plugin: https://farcry.jira.com/svn/GSS/trunk/webskin/configGSS/displayGoogleSitemap.cfm .
