Absolutely!!!! No CMS is going to look or work as you want it to from a
front-end perspective when you first get it. You still have to do things once
you take it out of the box and install it.

However, there is still a "cost" that comes with taking the "Open Source" road.
If you have exhausted all the community resource open to solve an issue and
still dont have an answer and dont have the financial resources to fund Daemon
to assist you or to do the work for you, then you have to work it out for
yourself. The Daemon guys (and the list) have been great to me and my work
team - but there still came a time where we just had to do it ourselves.

Yes, I loved the drop-down on the older template (and what is still used on the
FarCry site). BUT... I never actually used it in a template - only used it to
learn from and then built what I needed. It would be nice to see that back
again and it sounds as though Ben has a solution in mind for that.

However, the "navigation chatter" I am hearing recently sounds like some people
want something more comprehensive in the example template (even more than what
was in the original one). A non-depth-limited popup menu system generated from
the FarCry navigation tree (even if the styling of it is non-extensible). This
would then give people wanting such a thing the working example they have been
looking for.

And yes, the navigation hierarchy data is difficult to understand. But still
wonderfully flexible and worth understanding. That understanding really only
comes from building and trying out.

[So much a FarCry convert that I have spent my whole long weekend playing
around with it and understanding it and contributing to this list even though
it occupies my time 10 hours a day at work!!!]
