In terms of a demo, here are a few things you can find. - in FastBit source code distribution, there is a directory called "examples" that contains a few examples. It might be worthwhile for you to take a look. - since you mentioned your application domain is network management, you might be interested to know that Ntop has incorporated FastBit in some of its functions, you may find more description of this combination at <https://search.mywot.com/?q=ntop+fastbit>.
