Hi list, I wondered if it was possible to take a couple of Faust programmes and use them on DSP hardware directly. I don't want to have to run an operating system on the DSP to keep complexity and costs low; I'd just like to take a few of the Faust filters and guitar effects from Guitarix and get them to run directly on a sufficiently powerful DSP.
I only have experience in playing with microcontrollers, and I have not yet developed anything for DSPs, so I don't know yet what limitations there may be in trying to run algorithms directly on hardware. Has anyone attempted something like that yet? Are there any DSPs that you could recommend? Obviously I want to use a free software compiler toolchain instead of some proprietary tools.
