This is interesting for opposing copyright term extension (which I think we are
meant to be doing but 14+14 didn't get carried), and for the fact that they are
interested in pd work, which would fit pd-burn well.

The website is the focus of our campaign against proposals to extend the
term / duration of copyright protection for sound recordings - 'Release the
Music'. It is mainly directed at the public (particularly music-lovers and
techies) but will also contain resources for the press to use. In short, the
website makes our case and refutes the case for term extension.

We have written layman's explanations of the issues, exploding the myths
portrayed by the BPI (and their puppet Cliff Richards) in the media. These
explanations will hopefully convince punters to sign onto our petition and
also write to their MP ... possibly even becoming involved with the campaign
and indeed ORG to a greater extent.

The site also contains information on the public domain ('all ideas and
information that can be freely used, redistributed and reused'), which will
be directly harmed if the BPI's proposals are not stopped. We also including
links to scholarly articles and desposits of PD-culture.

Hope that clarifies the purpose of the meeting for you, hit me back if you'd
like more detail.
