Anyone know if one exists?

I belive Sun made one many, many moons ago.

I was wondering specifically if someone may
have had a go porting Kaffe or Suns KVM to
DOS.
I've posted some of this on the FreeDOS web site in the past. I should find a way to add the previous posted news to the site search. Here are some applicable items:

Subject: Embedded JVM for DOS
From: jhall
Web-site: http://www.eqrd.net/
Date: May 28 2001

David Feugey writes to give us this intersting bit of news for Java
developers:
<em>Hello, I'm David from <a href="http://www.eqrd.net/";>eQ R&D</a>.
We now provide a DOS version of Waba, the embedded JVM...
Zhaba, is a full DOS implementation that integrates some graphics
functions
(VGA and VESA)</em>
<br>It's on the <a
href="http://www.eqrd.net/english/riscos/index.html";>RISC OS
section</a>. I find this extremely exciting news for the FreeDOS
Project, especially since my <a href="http://web.umn.edu/";>day</a>
<a href="http://labs.webteam.umn.edu";>job</a> is totally centered on
Java-based applications. That a JVM is being supported for DOS is
great news for me! And, I imagine, this is tremendous news for
embedded developers around the world!

Subject: WABA - Java for DOS on a 386
From: jhall
Web-site: http://www.thisiscool.com/doswaba.htm
Date: Jun 19 2001

Paolo posted this link to a mini-Java implementation for DOS and
handheld devices. From the <A
href="http://www.thisiscool.com/doswaba.htm";>web site</a>:
<em>Waba<font size="1">TM</font> for DOS is covered by the
GNU General Public License.
For a free DOS implementation, try FreeDOS (http://www.freedos.org).
(Haven't tested with this, unfortunately.)
Features of This Port:
- Runs in DOS protected mode. Requires a 386 or greater (no coprocessor
required), 4MB RAM (maybe less), a pointing device (mouse) and a VGA
card (minimum 640x480, 16 colors).
- Can run in color or monochrome mode.
- Can run both Windows CE .wrp files as well as Palm OS .pdb files!
[...]</em>
<br>However, this should not be confused with a full Java
implementation.

From a "quickies" posting:

-Tony wrote to me about a Java Virtual Machine for DOS:
<em>[...] not part of the opensource kaffe ( which is unfortunate :( )
its
still controlled by Transvirtual..
<a href="http://www.transvirtual.com/kaffe.htm";>Kaffe</a>.</em>

Subject: KaffePC - Java VM for DOS
From: jhall
Web-site: http://www.openje.org/kaffepc/docs/en/index.html
Date: Apr 24 2002

We've posted news about Kaffe before, but I think it's important to
remind people of the availability of a Java VM for DOS. Tony wrote to
me about a Java Virtual Machine for DOS:
<em>Once apon a time I pointed to <a
href="http://www.transvirtual.com/tech/kaffepro.html";>Kaffe</a>..
Now there is "KaffePC" (from the <a
href="http://www.openje.org/kaffepc/docs/en/index.html";>web page</a>)
"KaffePC is the embedded Java environment for DOS".
Only tty mode.. but who knows what could happen.</em>
