It's a while ago, but I think, after some lengthy discussion, it was agreed
to have 'standard' hidden partitions like
        hidden ID = ID + 0x10

AFAIR, thats the way it's used by PQDI and OS/2 Bootmanager

unfortunately, current FDISK still uses 
        hidden ID = ID + 140

introducing yet another incompatible hidden partition scheme isn't a good
idea IMO.
