There is http://www.kanguru.com/aesmicrodrive.html which, alas,
is only Windoze, but it is FIPS 140-2 compliant (FIPS
Certification # 682).

I suspect that if enough of us squawked loudly enough and long
enough, that we would see them add Linux and Mac.

In the meantime, there is TrueCrypt, http://www.truecrypt.org/,
which is Windoze and Linux. I suspect that a more universal *nix
version or setup would not be all that hard as BSD will run Linux
bins.

And if those will not work for you, then there is a somewhat ugly
solution of using an encrypting file compression utility that can
be opened and read on several platforms. As to exact file format,
Biz2 seems to work, rar of course, 7z and some others.

I don't know the best choices in the *nix world, but I like
QuickZip for Windoze as it reads 22 different encrypted archive
file formats.

Good luck,

Allen
