Any experience from anyone on the impact of FDE on production systems running a DBMS (like SQL Server)? Seems like a hardware-based FDE would be ideal in this case (to mitigate the performance drain), except that companies typically use a RAID configuration on the box hosting the DBMS. Any experience or suggestions, esp when technologies like RAID are used?
