Interestingly enough I am actually in the process of rebuilding my slug with
Fedora, I use it as a simple repo, errata, svn, and the like. I love the fact
that I got my 3G usb modem running on the thing. That said, I have high hopes
that Marvell's Sheeva SoC will replace the slug, its got 512MB memory, 1.2ghz
ARM, GigE and cost around $100/80US, with anticipation to drop under $50.
Looks like Marvell already has about 8 to 10 vendors making versions of these,
but due to the SoC, it should provide for a stable system architecture. I
travel a _lot_ for work and having a mini-server the size of power-brick, is
very appealing.
