+1 for a custom character. We can then use it to create lost of poses etc. I suggest to concentrate on the character and not the image. I'd think that a guy named "Bob" that looks like these http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join is better than a shiny thing like Firefox which is hard to adopt in various poses and contexts.
