There must not be more then three styles for the set, while for one
category of icons not more then two styles must be used. That means we
have three perspectives - one dedicated specially for bigger action
icons, one dedicated to the rest of the bigger icons and one dedicated
specially for smaller sizes. You'll never see an 16x16 and 48x48 icon
side by side (or at least you should not). Consistency means that within
one size and one category you will use only one styling and only one
perspective - but not within the full set (there I described it above).

Hope its clear enough, to summarise the perspective usage:

flat: 16x16 all, 22x22, 24x24 action icons
slightly tilted: 32x32, 48x48 action icons
isometric: the rest
