I have been looking through the Fedora Documentation, and I just want
clarification on the following questions.
(1) Searching. It seems that with Fedora, you can search the metadata, but
not the datastream? Is that correct? And it also seems like the search is
done against the database, right?
(2) Security - I think from reading the documentation that cosign could be
configured in the web.xml file as the the authentication interface to use,
is that correct? And can IP restrictions be put on logins? Is there a way
to customize that?
(3) Ingestion - Is there a way to ingest a datastream other than via the
interface? I would like to be able to ingest large objects via directly
from the server. This would be helpful for large datastream objects.
(4) Datastream object sizes. This leads to the question of the size of
datastream objects. I'm wondering how Fedora does with very large objects,
I will need to ingest objects that are over 2 Gig. Of course there is the
need to make these objects easily accessible to users.
Many thanks!
Jose
