As has been mooted on this list before, the REST API-M offers the ability to create a totally "blank" or empty (up to the required components) object by POSTing nothing to /fedora/objects/new. The SOAP API-M requires at least a skeleton object to parameterize the "ingest" method.
I see a Jira issue (FCREPO-579) with a fix, which has been in review since 30/Nov/09 with no fix version specified. I was wondering if there's anything that can be done by users (like myself) to help expedite this fix?
