Thanks again Steve. I had copied the mysql connector to CATALINA_HOME/common
dir (which I created) but the env-server scrpt wanted the driver in the:
CATALINA_HOME/common/endorsed dir. After I copied it there, everything
worked fine.

The funny thing is that I only had this problem on Debian (on Windows and
OpenSuse there was no problem).
