Steve,
Yes that is what I want to be able to do.
At a minimum the logged on user id would be fine as I could get all the other
info from LDAP.
It would be good to able to get the other attributes as I already get them
via JAAS for policy stuff.

  Ben

Steve can probably comment more meaningfully on this, but the way I
interpret the proposal for FCREPO-652 (a graph per object) is that it
would *not* break backward compatibility because the <#ri> (whole
graph) view would still behave as before. The dependency on mulgara
isn't so concerning if this (and thus FCREPO-656) is considered an
optional feature.

So on the surface, this seems compatible with a point release (e.g.
3.5), but I'd hesitate to put it in the bucket without having a
reasonable expectation that it might possibly get proven out and done
in that timeframe. It looks like a it'd be a fairly significant
effort, and I currently don't know of anyone planning on working on it
in the short term.

It seems that a proof of concept impl behind the idea would be good in
any case -- something to help answer the basic feasibility questions.

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for the quick reply. I think it was a simple mistake,
unfortunately. I neglected to flush the buffer. :/

Seems strange, as the buffer flushes automatically after 5 seconds of
inactivity, which there surely had been. It seemed to take much longer than
this.

Hi Rob,

The query looks good. One quick thing you can do is dump all triples:
Go to the "Find Triples" triples tab and enter "* * *" (without the
quotes) as an SPO query.

If that works, maybe you haven't ingested any service definition
objects yet? You should have at least 4 content model objects (the
built in ones) though, so if you replace the ServiceDefinition-3.0 URI
in your query with <info:fedora/fedora-system:ContentModel-3.0>, that
should definitely return something.

Hi Ben

In fact something similar has been raised for a different situation - "E"
datastreams authenticating to external http storage:
https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/FCREPO-748

Both the "E" datastreams and SDep methods go through the
ExternalContentManager - so potentially there could be a common solution to
both issues.

To clarify your use-case, what you are saying is that you would like Fedora
to forward on certain parts of the original request context, eg the
logged-on user? That could potentially be an additional configuration
option, eg options to forward on the whole request context headers and
attributes (potentially dangerous as basic auth would include the password),
and maybe options to specify which headers/attributes should get passed
through.

(I think it may also be useful to include cross-context functionality, eg
through configuration being able to specify that a service in the same
container should be called using the RequestDispatcher. Though not really
applicable to your case.)

You might want to look at the code in
org.fcrepo.server.access.dissemination.DisseminationService.assembleDissemin
ation(...) to see what happens currently.

Regards
Steve
