Hello

AW> Interesting. Are you using the DM portion of Alfresco? It sounds

AW> workflow data separate from Fedora?

We will be using the Records Management module of Alfresco (DOD-5015
certified) for part of the process. It gives better control over freezing
documents and metadata, so that archivists can do appraisal of the
documents added by the contributors and the metadata generated, without
the contributors being able to undo what the archivists have done.

We'll also be using the SAMBA functionality in Alfresco Explorer (for bulk
uploads), and the regular Alfresco Share.

The SIPs are created in Alfresco. Fedora can ingest METS documents as well
as FOXML, so we thought we would go with the slightly more standard METS
format.

Any work flow data or audit trail that we want to preserve will be added
as a datastream to the SIP - maybe as a PREMIS event document. Fedora
won't do anything special with this datastream, other than keep it safe
and keep it associated with the original file.

Swithun.
