I also tried our experimental fedora 3.5 installation and the problem is still
there. Not surprising since it uses Mulgara 2.1.4.
But as I understand, Fedora 3.6 will use Mulgara 2.1.8 (Mulgara itself now has
2.1.13).

As I recall, it's an issue w/ the version of Mulgara in Fedora 3.4. You need at
least Mulgara 2.1.5 for proper ORDER BY DESC/ASC support.
